Fitness and Lifestyle Review

What is a LIFESTYLE? According to British philosopher defined by the dictionary definition of that word, a LIFESTYLE is a synonym for family. Lifestyle is the behavioral, attitudes, and interests of an adult, group, or nation. In its most general definition, Lifestyle means the way of living that a person generally regards as his way of life or family orientation.

The word was first introduced by Austrian psychiatrist and philosopher Alfred Adler in his widely-read volume, The Case of Miss R. which has the simpler meaning of “a primitive way of living”. It was later used in the Oxford Dictionary by Sir Thomas Hobbes who used it to describe the primitive ways of living of the people of Paradise Lost. Later writers like Edward Said used it to explain the concepts of Oriental lifestyles in their famous book Orientalism.

In the 21st century, the LIFESTYLE definition is still widely used to define the concept of lifestyles, with a single major distinction – the word “active” is replaced by “lifestyle”. Some other synonyms for lifestyle are wholesome lifestyle, fad-free lifestyle, organic lifestyle, eco-friendly lifestyle, and sustainable lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle, as the definition implies, is a lifestyle in conformity with good health and fitness, but may also mean a non-activity focused lifestyle that respects physical limits, requires moderate stress levels, and has a long lifespan. An active lifestyle, on the other hand, is considered to be one characterized by vigorous or aggressive sports, dancing, work-outs, and other physical activities that create some form of social interaction or social fitness.

An active lifestyle is frequently promoted by fitness experts who believe that a healthy, long-term physical fitness is vital to overall mental and emotional well being. A healthy diet and regular exercise are essential components of an active lifestyle. For some, this translates into a healthy diet consisting of lean protein, whole grains, low fat dairy products, fruits and vegetables, and fish or seafood. For others, a healthy diet consists of lean red meats, poultry, eggs, low fat dairy products, fruits and vegetables, and fish or seafood.

In addition to the physical benefits derived from a healthy diet, an active lifestyle can provide many other health benefits. Inactivity, particularly in middle aged and older age, is associated with a variety of chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, stroke, cancer, and high blood pressure. These diseases are more common in people who are inactive or suffer from another chronic health condition. Furthermore, those who are not active have much higher risks of developing obesity and other serious health problems.
